Glen White, CEO of Mutual Bank commissioned Dewey Nichols to design their new 2,500 s.f. branch bank facility in the former American Red Cross building, in Middleboro, Massachusetts. The design goal for this interior gut renovation was to create a dynamic banking environment that promoted private and personalized customer service in a free flowing plan with reverence to the 150 year history of Mutual Bank. The design solution played glossy modern surfaces against classical wood forms, in a free-flowing curvilinear plan. The juxtaposition conveys the spirit of the banks progressive yet historically reverent philosophy.
Great attention was given to optimize the bank’s marketing potential throughout the public spaces. Upon entry, bank customers are given the choice of computerized or human services as well as the many banking products available to the consumer as they progress from the entrance to the exit. |
