Fred
and Gina Mercer commissioned Dewey Nichols to design their 350 s.f.
breakfast and mud room and covered patio addition to their exclusive,
turn-of-the-century, Shadyside home in Pittsburgh. The design goal
was to create a covered passage to the manicured garden as well
as connection to the homes garage. The design solution created
passage with a twelve foot high linear breakfast room which highlighted
the formal procession to the gardens. Careful consideration of finishes
by interior designer, Gina Mercer, completed the studied, Italianesque,
interior.
